My laptop keeps restarting on its own windows 10 自由 -

This is becoming a big issue for me - I have lots of windows open like spreadsheets, documents, web pages, etc. I never shut my computer off but at night, windows keeps rebooting my machine and I'm losing a lot of work. It seems to be getting worse - rebooting more often of late. I paused updates but it's still restarting. After that happens, I have to go into each office document and try to "auto-recover". This is very annoying Microsoft.

Not to mention other programs that are abruptly killed on a reboot and the amount of work lost. This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread.

You can control restarts in two ways, one of which requires that you have the Professional edition of Windows In all editions of Windows 10, you can set active hours.

These are times when you are considered to be actively working on your computer. Windows 10 will not restart during active hours. You can set aside up to 18 hours per day to be your active hours and that number may increase. For most users, their non-active hours fall during the middle of the night. In the Professional edition of Windows 10 you can delay quality updates for up to 30 days and feature updates for up to days. Between these two features, you can exercise substantial control over when your computer restarts.

But eventually, it needs to restart. If an update fails to install, it will try to install again at the next conclusion of active hours. If this is happening often, you need to find out why the update is failing and fix whatever needs fixing. Finally, you can minimize data loss by backing up frequently.

Third-party backup software makes this easy and you can continue to use the computer while the backup is happening in the background.

You could, for example, schedule incremental backups to occur every 15 minutes. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community.
